About Bamboo Sheets

When thinking of bamboo, sheets and bedding may not be the first thing to come to mind. But thanks to recent advances in technology, bamboo fibre can now be used in a wide range of textile and fashion applications. As a result, you might start to notice bamboo-based products appearing everywhere you look. If you’re unfamiliar with bamboo fabrics, don’t worry - the BeddingCo team has compiled everything you need to know about bamboo, right here…

How are bamboo sheets made?

Freshly harvested bamboo is crushed and soaked to extract the raw essence of the bamboo – cellulose! The cellulose is then dried and woven into a fabric. BeddingCo’s bamboo sheets and quilt covers are 100% natural and organic, and are made using the Lyocell manufacturing process (Tencel Bamboo). This means they allow you to enjoy a healthy nights sleep, every night of the week!

What do bamboo sheets feel like?

If we could describe the way bamboo bed sheets feel in one word, it would be FRESH! Bamboo sheets are so breathable, they almost feel cool to the touch – especially when compared with other fabrics. Bamboo sheets are also incredibly smooth, soft, and lightweight, yet incredibly durable.

What are the benefits of bamboo sheets?

Sheets made from bamboo offer a whole host of incredible natural benefits, including:

  • They’re great for your skin thanks to their anti-microbial properties, which can help prevent acne and blemishes. And, because they’re so smooth, they also help to prevent skin irritation.
  • They are breathable and wick sweat and moisture away from the body, preventing humidity in the sheets and clamminess.
  • Bamboo sheets are thermo-regulating, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter.
  • They’re hypoallergenic and free from harsh chemicals.
Is bamboo fabric eco-friendly?

Bamboo fabric is an incredibly sustainable product because:

  • It does not require pesticides or chemical fertilisers to grow
  • It requires no irrigation
  • It does not require any more water than what is provided by mother nature
  • It grows in a wide range of environments

Overall, bamboo is incredibly eco-friendly as it does not require much water to grow, and does not negatively affect the environments where it natively grows. So it’s great for the environment and sure to provide a comfortable, healthy night’s sleep.

The best sheets for Summer

Bamboo sheets are a real game-changer in Australia’s unforgiving climate. Australia’s notoriously hot weather can leave you tossing and turning throughout the night, resulting in seriously disturbed sleep. Bamboo fabric is incredibly breathable and comfortable, meaning bamboo sheets help to regulate body temperature by wicking excess moisture away from the body, preventing sticky humidity between the sheets. Bamboo sheets will leave you feeling cool as a cucumber, giving you a restful night of healthy sleep during hot Australian Summer night!
