What comes in a bed sheet set?
Sheet sets are packages that comprise a flat sheet, fitted sheet and pillowcases. It’s crucial to pick a sheet set that corresponds with your mattress size, and what you receive will depend on the size of your mattress. If you have a super king, king, queen or double mattress, the corresponding sheet set will contain one flat sheet, one fitted sheet and two pillowcases. For those ordering king single or single sheet sets, only one pillowcase is provided as these mattresses are more narrow.
How many sheet sets should you have?
The main difference between standard and European pillow cases is their shape. A standard pillow case is rectangular, measuring 50cm x 75cm. A European pillow case, however, is square and slightly bigger at 65cm x 65cm, with an additional 5cm sham.
As with most bedding, it’s important to own at least two sheet sets so that you have something on standby when you’re washing one set. Some people are happy with two sets, and others may prefer to have upwards of that for more variety. As long as there’s space in your linen cupboard, there are no upward limits to the number of sheet sets you should own.
